In fact we are having a party!

Did you ever play with the band? Have you ever been part of the band organisation in any way, or even just a good friend to WCSB?

Yes? Good! Then please let us know! We'd like to get in touch.

For starters, we'd love you to be our guest at our Tent Event party in the evening of Sunday July 13th 2008!

Just drop us an email and we'll save you your free invitation. Please don't miss a golden opportunity to catch up with old friends.

It is completely free - our way to saying thanks to those on whose foundations today's band is built.

Even if you can't make it, please do get in touch - we'd love to hear from you!

Chestnut Tree House

We are proud to be supporting Chestnut Tree House throughout our birthday year! (see the link to the left). We hope we can really achieve something worthwhile, so yes - we will be collecting money!

About the band:

Established in 1908, West Chiltington Silver Band is successfully managing to buck a trend that has seen the end of many traditional brass bands. Thanks to Chairman Doug Golds' stalwart leadership, the band has survived membership dips and is now definitely thriving!

This friendly West Sussex brass band has continued its renaissance under MD Annette with an April wedding – playing for the arrival of the newlyweds at their reception in West Chiltington Village Hall. A beautiful spring day and a very satisfactory performance by the band! Pictures are on our gallery pages…

A period of very intensive practise preceded our first full concert under the new management in June 07, again in the Village Hall, we hosted a well received joint event in partnership with Slinfold Handbell Ringers.

The band has now finished its busy Christmas programme and we now are working towards our centenary celebrations in July. (Yes - lots of committee meetings!!)

Please have a look at our pictures for a good idea of who we are. Of course the best way to find out about us is to come and meet us on Wednesday nights.

We always welcome new players for all brass, age isn't a problem - our youngest full band member is 10, while our oldest is - well pretty old. We have no auditions and no minimum grades - the aim is to enjoy playing together, generally have fun and to maintain the brass band tradition in our beautiful West Sussex corner of rural England.

If you are interested in booking the band or would like to play then please contact us.

If you do fancy having a go, whatever your level, then we do have instruments in the cupboard - they really could do with a blow through. Please contact us.

Please email Julie for more details, phone on 01798 813660 or feel free to just turn up - practice every Wed 8:00 - 9:30 pm
